Invetus announces closure of Diagnostic Parasitology Laboratory in Armidale

Invetus Pty Ltd has made the difficult decision to permanently close our Diagnostic Parasitology Laboratory at the Armidale Research Centre, effective Friday 28th February 2020.

As you know, our diagnostic laboratory has been operating for decades, and has provided valuable services to farmers and graziers throughout NSW primarily.  Invetus has redefined its business purpose as research in animals for the benefit of animal and human health, and the role of the lab has become less clear. Coupled with a more competitive environment, and declining volume of work, we have decided that the lab is no longer a core part of our business.

We will maintain our capability in FEC and total worm counts, as these skills are often required in our research studies for sponsors. As well, we will continue to grow a range of parasites both for our own research studies and for sale to others.

The closure affects a number of farmer/grazier customers who have been using the lab for years for Faecal Egg Counts in their production animals. Fortunately there are alternative providers for these services, and a list courtesy of Wormboss can be found here.

The closure also affects three of our staff members, and we are working with them on alternatives.

Thank you for your support of the Invetus Diagnostic Parasitology Lab, we look forward to continuing to provide high quality animal research services to our wide range of clients.
